Many people hate going to the dentist just because of the instruments they use in daily routines. The sound some machines make give people chills, so maybe understanding what they can do and what they are meant to do will make it easier to go to the dentist. It also depends on the field the dentists are specialist in for which tools they will use.
Because our teeth are a very important part of our body, we always need to check how healthy they are. It is recommended to go twice a year for an examination if everything is good. Always go to qualified dentists with certificates, so you will be sure everything is done correctly. There are many ways you can find a dentist online.
Rotary instruments
Nowadays dentists have in their disposal rotary instruments to perform their dental treatments. The most known are the high-speed air-driven handpieces also known as the aorta which allows drilling the dental tissues at high speed with low vibration and with enough comfort.

That allows them to carve the teeth in a very fast way. The contra angles that go attached to a motor have a lower speed. They consist of a multiplier or red ring contra angle, the most similar to a turbine. This system allows them not to reach high speeds, but to get a multiplication of the motor revolutions, usually times five.
There are also blue and green contra angles. The blue when attached to the motor it gives a rotation speed of one to one. The green is a reducing contra angle which usually reduces the motor speed from 1 to 4.
Dental chair and its instruments
Usually, a dental chair has 5 different hoses. One includes a dental curing light, the second has 3-way syringes. Other are rotary instruments and those that are high-speed work at 150 to 250 thousand revs per minute, and a motor at 40 000 revs per minute.
Two different instruments could be applied such as a multiplier contra-angle or a reducing contra-angle. They can also apply a hand piece to remove the prosthesis or cut bone at surgeries.

Radiographic instruments
Radiology is an essential tool in the dental field because it allows them to make a correct diagnosis and treatment planning. Dental radiography allows them to see structures that they may overlook at the patients first visit or during conventional clinical examinations.
There are basically two types of x-ray films, the intraoral and extraoral radiographs. Within extraoral radiographs, they have the panoramic radiography. There is also lateral teleradiography or profile view of the skull.
Instruments for local anesthesia
Most of the dental procedure that we perform in the dental office begins with an administration of local anesthesia on the patient. It enables them to perform any kind of dental treatment without pain sensation. Local anesthetics have evolved a lot lately and as a result, they now have local anesthetics with a great analgesic effect that make dental treatments easier. Read more on this page.
Carpule syringe has two parts, first, they set the car peel and then they assemble the needle. There are different diameters and lengths of needles for local anesthesia depending on the anesthesia technique, infiltrative or block technique. The needle has a part that penetrates into a carpule diaphragm.
Instruments for sterilization
Instrument reprocessing involves several steps. The first step is cleaning. They should be cleaned as soon as possible, so when you see someone leaving the dentist office, make sure everything is cleaned.
There are three types of cleaning, manual cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning, and with an automatic disinfection washing machine. Instruments should be inspected for cleanliness after cleaning under good lighting. Sterility assurance should be routinely verified using three types of indicators, physical, chemical and biological.
Physical indicators are the marks on the sterilization pouches. These marks change its color when the sterilization cycle is correctly finished and some or all sterilization parameters have been met.
Technology in medicine is advancing throughout the years, so you can expect less scary instruments to be used in the future. When health is at risk, you should always do what the doctor says because no one wants for results to become worse.
